Avni Pandya, M.D. ’01

I am truly thankful to the UCR/UCLA Program in Biomedical Sciences for my career success in family medicine! Ten years after graduating UCLA School of Medicine, I am a working mom of two kids. I have a lovely 5 year old daughter named Yana, and a handsome 1 year old son named Yuvraaj. My husband, Dharmesh Sheth, MD, is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist practicing in Long Beach, CA. He trained in psychiatry at St. Louis University in Missouri and specialized in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I have had the wonderful experience of living in many regions since graduating from UCLA. I lived in Missouri, Michigan, and Georgia. Currently, we live near "Little India" in Southern California.

After medical school, I completed a residency in family medicine at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. After graduating from MCG, I did work in urgent care, emergency room, and general practice. Currently, I am a civilian faculty member in the US Navy at Camp Pendleton Family Practice Residency Program near Oceanside, CA. I enjoy my work tremendously, and remember all of my wonderful professors from UCR, UCLA, and MCG! I hope to be just like them in my faculty practice!

Thank you to my very wonderful parents, Dr. Bansi and Kay Pandya, and my brothers Andy and Amol, for helping me succeed through UCR/UCLA Biomedical Sciences and MCG Family Practice Residency.

My current goals in life are to live, laugh, love, and always continue learning! God Bless;)

Isaac Yang, M.D.’04

I completed my residency at UCSF. I've returned to UCLA. I am a member of the Neurosurgery department faculty. I am so happy to be back. I remember how important mentors were to me in deciding my specialty, which is why I volunteer as a Virtual Advisor.

Jeannine Rahimian, M.D. '00

October 14, 2007 - I definitely feel like so much has happened since graduating medical school. I stayed at UCLA for my residency in OBGYN and am now on faculty at UCLA. I also met my husband during residency and we got married 4 years ago. Earlier this year we had a baby girl, who's now 5 months old!
